Abstract:
Individualism-Gregariousness Tension in the Psychological Configuration of the Human Being, IV: Evolution of Individualistic Configurations during Classical and Late Antiquity. This fourth essay in the series on the on the development and evolution of psychological configurations examines the advances in the development of the individualist configuration across the broad historical period spanning from Classical to, Late Antiquity. The essay describes how certain proto-individualist configurations evolved into increasingly comprehensive expressions of individualism, driven by the profound psychological transformations that occurred during Classical Antiquity. Furthermore, this study analyzes the critical development of the individualistic configuration in Classical Greece and the Hellenistic period, which transcended the proto-individualistic profiles of archaic times to form the foundation that sustained and revitalized this archetype. Finally, it examines the changes and innovations that arose during Classical and Late Antiquity, within the framework of the dynamic interactive evolution between the two overarching archetypes of psychological configurations: the gregarious and the individualist. The essay concludes by analyzing the most significant changes and advances in the formation of the individualistic psychological makeup that took place during these periods.
