Individualism-Gregariousness Tension in the Psychological Configuration of the Human Being, III: Emergency of Individualistic Configurations. This article is the third essay in a series on the historical development of psychological configurations of the self and presents the development of the first types of proto-individualistic psychological configurations that emerged in markedly gregarious contexts from the earliest times of human development, which represent the first examples of psychological configurations of the individualistic self archetype. The first and most elementary proto-individualistic configurations that emerged in archaic times are explored, showing the four oldest types of proto-individualism of which there is evidence. The most varied and numerous types of proto-individualism that emerged in the post-Neolithic period and in the first civilizations are also explored and discussed, both those that are transformations or variations of archaic types and the new types of configuration that emerge in the already very diverse contexts of social organization. The changes and innovations that arose during the period known as classical civilizations and Late Antiquity are also presented, and the advances in the configuration of the individualist archetype that took place during both the Middle Ages and the brief period generally known as the Renaissance are finally introduced. The main characteristics of the configurations presented are discussed within the framework of the dynamic evolution of the two general archetypes of psychological configuration.
